We do not build props. Every automotive furniture piece starts with a real car shell, engine block or racing seat, then is reinforced, finished in PPG automotive lacquer, and upholstered by hand. The result is furniture that reads as a car — and sits like a sofa.

What is automotive furniture?
Automotive furniture is furniture built from or inspired by real cars and racing heritage. At Shamil Design Lab this includes car sofas, engine coffee tables, race-seat lounge chairs, and suspended full-scale cars — each piece handcrafted from automotive shells and components.
What is a car sofa?
A car sofa is a seating piece built from a real car body section — a rear clip, front end, bucket seats, or full side profile. The shell is structurally reinforced, finished in automotive lacquer, and upholstered in full-grain leather or suede to make it feel like furniture rather than a prop.
What is an engine coffee table?
An engine coffee table takes a real internal-combustion engine block, strips and refinishes it, then mounts it as the base of a glass-topped table. The block is visible through a low-iron tempered glass top, turning the engine into a functional sculpture.
Can I commission custom automotive furniture?
Yes. Every piece is made to order. You can choose the donor car, engine, scale, upholstery, finish and colour. Commissions are signed, numbered and shipped worldwide. Contact the studio via WhatsApp or email to start.
Is automotive furniture comfortable to use?
Yes. Bespoke car sofas and race-seat chairs are engineered for daily use. Seat height, depth, foam profile and lumbar support are adjusted to the client, and cushions are upholstered in full-grain leather or alcantara-style suede chosen for both look and longevity.
Do you ship automotive furniture internationally?
Yes. Shamil Design Lab has delivered automotive sculptures and furniture to collectors across 24 countries. Each piece is crated, insured and shipped via freight, with installation guidance provided for larger commissions.
